Course Information
This course is designed to help students prepare for either the General or Academic versions of the IELTS test. Lessons are aimed at improving students’ scores on all test components (reading, writing, listening, and speaking), while also introducing high-level grammatical concepts and expanding students’ vocabulary. Small class sizes allow our teachers to give you personalised feedback, and design lessons that target specific areas of weakness. Regular practice tests help you familiarise yourself with the test structure and track your progress throughout the course. Whether you are taking the IELTS test for work, study, or migration, we can help you achieve the score you need.

Course Description

  • Improve your reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, and vocabulary
  • 20 hours in-class + 5 hours per week self-study or activity (full-time)

  1. Academic study diary
    Along with weekly speaking presentations, teachers may set writing tasks for students to complete in their diary. Teachers will check these and then give advice on what was done well and what could be improved. In this way, students can also communicate with their teacher personally.
  2. Weekly speaking tasks and feedback
    Each week, students are required to complete a speaking task, either in front of their class or in small groups. By speaking in front of their classmates, students gain confidence in speaking, and also improve their pronunciation and fluency. Our teachers give individual feedback on speaking skills (including accuracy of grammar, range of vocabulary, and features of pronunciation) to each student after their speaking presentation, and give advice on how to improve in these areas.
  3. Weekly testing and ongoing observation
    Throughout the week, students are assessed on their reading, writing, listening, and speaking abilities. In addition to this, weekly grammar and vocabulary tests allow students and their teachers to track progress and assess whether they are ready for the next level.
  4. English only policy
    We believe that the best way to improve your English is to use it to communicate at all times. For this reason, students at CCEB are required to use only English while inside the school. In addition to helping you improve more quickly, this also helps you to meet new people and make new friends from other countries.
  5. Academic Counselling
    CCEB is a small school, which means that it is much easier for you to get personalised academic assistance. We take great pride in being able to provide individual guidance in order to help students achieve diverse goals, regardless of whether they relate to work, migration, exams, or simply personal development. If at any point you need advice on your options and/or progress, you may talk directly with your teacher or the Academic Manager.
  6. Qualified and Experienced Teachers
    Teachers at CCEB come from a variety of backgrounds, and all are fully qualified to teach English to international students. Most teachers speak at least one other language, meaning that they understand the difficulties involved in learning a language as an adult, and have developed techniques to make the journey easier. Most have experience teaching overseas, whether in Europe, Asia, or South America, and are therefore accustomed to working with people from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  7. Professional Development Training
    Each week, all CCEB teachers participate in professional development sessions. These help teachers to improve the standard of their lessons by incorporating new ideas and techniques, and help us to maintain a high standard of education across all classes and levels.
  8. First week interview
    On the first day, students will receive a school tour, staff introduction and a detailed orientation session. In the first week students will receive a counselling session to discuss any questions or problems they may have.
  9. Graduation
    Students receive a graduation certificate which shows the final level of English they have achieved (applies only to students who have maintained an attendance rate of 80% or above).
