About Cairns

Study in Paradise

Cairns is a unique city located on the north-east coast of Australia, and is home to the world heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef and wet tropics rainforests.

Cairns is a tropical paradise where the rainforest meets the reef, and is the only place in the world where two world heritage-listed sites can be found side-by-side. Cairns is a popular travel destination for both students and tourists as it is surrounded by the many attractions that Far North Queensland has to offer. To the north of Cairns you will find the wet tropics rainforests, to the south are many waterfalls and lakes, the east is where you will find the famous Great Barrier Reef, and the west holds the Australian outback. Cairns is home to the beautiful northern beaches which stretch for 26km, as well as an abundance of swimming holes and waterfalls. The neighbouring towns of Kuranda, Port Douglas, Yungaburra and Atherton also contribute to the diversity of the region.
